American Roulette

American Roulette has a ‘double zero’. The spinning wheel of American Roulette game has both double zero and single zero.
The roulette table had a spinning wheel with 38 pockets. The pockets are numbered 1 to 36, a ‘double zero’ and ‘single zero’ pocket. The pockets 1 to 36 are colored red and black and the two special pockets-‘single zero’ and ‘double zero’ is marked green. The roulette wheel is spun and a ball is thrown into it against the direction of spinning. When the ball settles down and rests in a pocket, the number on the pocket that has caught the ball wins. All pockets are identical and the numbers are arranged mathematically for even distribution by value, colour, high or low and odd or even so the ball has an equal chance to end up in all of them.
The whole of the rules of the game is composed in the betting part. The betting table has two parts, the ’Inside’ and the ‘Outside’. These serve different strategic purposes .Placing bets in the inside part is called ‘inside betting’ and placing bets on the outside part is called ‘outside betting’. The betting has minimum and maximum table limits.
While inside betting, the player has to make bets that have to at least add up to the table minimum. The inside part has black and red pockets numbered 1 o 36 and two green ‘zero’ and ‘double zero’ pockets. The different combination of bets available in the inside betting are-
  • When the player bets on a single number, it is called a ‘Straight up bet’. The payout is 35 to 1.
  • Placing a bet on two adjacent squares is called a ‘Split Bet’. The payoff is 17 to 1.
  • Betting on the three numbers of a row is called a ‘Street bet’. It pays 11 to 1.
  • ‘Line bet’ is a bet consisting of two street bets, that is six numbers. It pays 5 to 1.
  • ‘Corner bet’ allows the player to bet on four adjacent squares. It pays 8 to 1.
  • ‘Five bet’ is specific to American Roulette. It allows the player to bet on 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. It pays 6 to 1.
In outside betting, every single bet should match upto the table minimum. Outside betting does not include the zeros. The betting conditions for outside betting are:
  • ‘Dozens’ allows the player to bet on three squares which represent outcomes from 1 to 12, 13 to 24 and 25 to 36. The payout is 2 to1.
  • With a ‘High and low’ bet, the player can bet on two squares for the bottom half of the numbers (1 to 18 and 19 to 35). The payoff is 1 to 1.
  • When the player bets on two squares for red and black outcomes it is called ‘colors’ bet.
  • ‘Odd and even’ bet allows a player to bet on two squares representing odd and even outcomes.
‘Columns’ bet is placed on the three squares that are attached to the bottom of the inside table. This is a double bet
